DMSS, acronym for "Digital Mobile Surveillance System", is a free mobile application that facilitates room monitoring. This utility app, created by Hangzhou CE-soft Technology Co., Ltd., equips users with features such as push notifications, video playback, and remote monitoring. It is compatible with a range of devices including alarms, doorbells, and cameras. To access more features, users need to create an account.

How to Navigate the DMSS App?

Upon launching DMSS, the app requests permission to store images on the device, as it can save videos and photos from your cameras. Following this, users must select their country or region from the extensive list provided. The app can be used without an account, although new users, especially those transitioning from the old gDMSS Plus app, may benefit from watching the tutorial video first.

The user interface is intuitive and the app guides you on how to navigate it during the initial launch. Users need to tap and hold the upper bar of icons to scroll through them. It comprises seven icons corresponding to different features that can be accessed: Live, Playback, Door, Favorite, File, Alarm, and Access. For detailed instructions on their functionality, users can refer to the Help and Feedback section in the Me tab.

The search tool and a Plus button for adding devices are located on the top-right corner. To organize the view of your collection, simply tap the top-left button to switch between grid view and detailed view. The app's layout includes three tabs at the bottom of the screen: Home, Message, and Me, where users can find the settings. The app performs well in terms of recording, however, it seems to fall short when it comes to correctly delivering notifications.

Notification Issues

For the most part, DMSS serves as a convenient tool for surveillance, offering ease of use and a plethora of features. It supports various device types and functions on 3G, 4G, and Wi-Fi. However, it appears to struggle with sending notifications, even when there's movement detected by the cameras. This issue also affects the cameras occasionally, preventing users from viewing feedback when a notification is checked.
